70-71 Mopar B E Body 426 Hemi 340 440 Six Pack Cuda Idle Stop Solenoid DR1114429: 70 - 71 Mopar B E Body 426 Hemi, 70 440 Six Pack, 340 Six Pack, and 71 340 Four Barrel Idle Solenoid with no part number. This is a NOS solenoid manufactured in the USA without a bracket. We add the correct Delco Remy style bracket (e.g. squared bottom corners vs aftermarket rounded and clear zinc vs an aftermarket yellow zinc bracket; add new zinc plating. The solenoid is tested for proper operation to maintain the idle—new correct brass plunger (step in the brass and hold the boot on the top).

The design is correct for 1970-1971 426 Hemi, 1970 440 Six Pack, 340 Six Pack, and 1971 340 Thermoquad (4972S, 4973S) cars. The last photos are for reference to show installed locations, solenoids, and aftermarket solenoids with gold brackets. A mounting bracket is required to install this solenoid on 426 Hemi and 340 Six Packs. One-year warranty.

Chrysler installed the solenoids to prevent engine after run. The solenoid maintains the idle and then drops the idle speed when the key is turned off. The brass head can be adjusted higher or lower. The 426 Hemi and 340 Six Pack mounting brackets are sold separately.
